NEIGHBORS AND NEWCOMERS OF CUMBERLAND COUNTY

ARTICLE I: NAME The name of the club shall be Neighbors and Newcomers of Cumberland County, located in Crossville, Tennessee. Hereafter, it shall be referred to as the Club.
A. Purpose
- The Club is organized exclusively for the fellowship of its members, and to promote charitable and educational causes in the community, including contributions to charitable organizations in the community, and civic and service projects.
- The Club is a not for profit organization.
B. Objectives
- To provide an immediate opportunity for Members to become acquainted with others in the neighborhood and community.
- To provide an atmosphere of friendship and goodwill for Club members.
- To provide opportunities for the members to increase their knowledge and awareness of the surrounding area and the State of Tennessee.
- To provide a platform where-by the Club can provide charitable contributions for the benefit of residents, businesses, and organizations in Cumberland County, Tennessee.
ARTICLE II: MEMBERSHIP
- Membership in the Club shall be available to any resident of Cumberland County, Tennessee who is interested in the purposes and objectives of the organization and who regularly pay annual dues.
- Members are expected to attend regularly scheduled meetings, and to participate in the activities of the Club.
- The Club year shall be July 1st through June 30th of the following year.
ARTICLE III: POLICY
- The Club shall not discriminate against any prospective members because of age, ethnic or national origin, gender, income, material status, or educational background.
- The operating procedures of The Club shall be governed by the By-Laws approved by the membership.
- In the event The Club should be dissolved, the assets of the organization shall be distributed to one or more tax exempt organizations within permitted 501(c)4 guidelines.
ARTICLE IV: OFFICERS AND ELECTIONS
A. Officers
- The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors shall be comprised of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, and Secretary and Assistant Secretary.
- The Board of Directors shall consist of the Executive Committee and Standing Committee Chairs and is the governing body of the Club. The immediate Past President shall serve in an advisory, non-voting capacity.
B. Election of Officers
- The officers shall be elected by the membership in April and installed at the annual meeting in May of each year.
- The elected officers agree to serve the Club in that capacity for two years.
ARTICLE V: MEETINGS
- There shall be at least eight (8) regular meetings a year at which club business will be transacted.
- Time and location of meetings will be designated in the Bylaws.
ARTICLE VI: AMENDMENTS OF THE CONSTITUTION
- Amendments to the Constitution may be presented in writing by any Member. The Board of Directors will review and submit to the membership for a vote.
- Amendments to the Constitution require an affirmative vote of 2/3 of the paid membership.
A majority of dues paid members constitutes a quorum.
